Alongside Broker-Owner, and his wife, Jessica Ritter, Matthew has built a relationship-driven business rooted in trust, communication, and long-term client care. As partners in both life and business, Matthew and Jessica bring a seamless, collaborative approach to real estate, offering clients a level of dedication and personal attention that extends far beyond the closing table.
Originally from Decatur, Georgia, and raised in the Baltimore-Washington area, Matthew graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Land & Water Resources Management. His professional background began in environmental consulting, where he conducted site assessments for commercial real estate transactions. He later advanced to Operations Manager for a multi-million-dollar residential construction company, gaining extensive expertise in new home construction, contract management, and complex negotiations – an invaluable advantage for his clients today.
Now proudly serving Florida’s Gulf Coast, Matthew combines his technical knowledge, market insight, and calm, thoughtful approach to guide clients through every step of the buying and selling process. His passion for the Venice area and surrounding communities is evident in both his work and his lifestyle.
Outside of real estate, Matthew enjoys photography, often capturing the natural beauty of Gulf Coast beaches and historic downtown Venice. He is also dedicated to giving back, having volunteered with local organizations including the Sarasota County Sea Turtle Protection Program, the Wildlife Center of Southwest Florida, and the Tamiami Food Rescue. In his free time, he can often be found enjoying scenic drives in his restored 1964 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia.

Jessica Ritter
Jessica Ritter is an integral partner and also Broker – Owner of The Ritter Group. She is known for her thoughtful approach to client care and strong background in planning, community engagement, and relationship management. With a career based in public service and a passion for helping others, Jessica brings a well-rounded, client-focused perspective to every real estate experience.
A native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Jessica earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Towson University in Baltimore. She spent nearly two decades in the public sector, serving with the Maryland Department of the Environment, Howard County Department of Planning and Zoning, and the Sarasota County Parks and Recreation Department. Throughout her career, she developed extensive expertise in planning, development, and community outreach, skills that now translate seamlessly into her roles as Marketing and Customer Relations Manager and Broker-Owner.
Inspired early on by her parents’ involvement in real estate, Jessica developed a genuine appreciation for the home buying and selling process. This passion ultimately led her to transition into real estate full-time, where she now works alongside her husband and business partner, Matthew Ritter. Together, they provide a highly personalized, relationship-driven approach that reflects their shared commitment to excellence.
Jessica’s deep appreciation for community extends beyond her professional work. She has volunteered with organizations such as the Sarasota County Sea Turtle Protection Program, Senior Friendship Centers, the City of Venice, Tamiami Food Rescue, and Suncoast Humane Society. Her love for animals is especially close to her heart, she and Matthew have adopted several rescue pets, and currently share their home with Luca, a spirited rescue dog from Puerto Rico, and Salvatore, a lively ginger cat.
Outside of real estate, Jessica enjoys traveling, exercise, health/wellness, and being outdoors in beautiful parks, preserves and nature as much as possible. Her genuine warmth, attention to detail, and passion for helping others create a seamless and elevated experience for every client she serves.
Jessica and Matthew’s partnership is built on a lifelong foundation of friendship, marriage, and shared professional purpose. Having met as teenagers and married since 1996, they bring a rare level of trust, collaboration, and dedication to their clients – treating every relationship with the same care and commitment that defines their own.
